Nuclear Noodle Fries Recipe
Nuclear fire noodle fries are a fun and delicious way to enjoy the famous Korean dish. This snack goes great with French fries and fiery nuclear fire noodle sauce. It’s spicy, crunchy, and hard to stop eating!
Nuclear fire noodles also known as Haek Buldak Bokkeummyeon or Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun, are a type of instant noodle that is very popular in Korea.
These noodles are considered to be one of the spiciest instant ramen in the world. These are fried noodles, not noodles with soup, unlike most traditional instant noodles from Korea. These noodles are produced by Samyang, the first Korean company to produce instant ramen noodles.
There was a lighter version of this noodle before the birth of nuclear fire noodles in 2016. It was known as fire noodles, and its Korean name was Buldak Bokkeummyun. Nuclear fire ramen is also known as 2x hot chicken flavored ramen because it is said to be twice as spicy as fire ramen.
Nuclear fire noodles (or fire noodles), french fries, Korean seasoned seaweed, toasted sesame seeds, and a little oil for frying are all you need to make this recipe.
INGREDIENTS 2-3 PORTIONS, AS A SIDE SNACK
- 1 nuclear fire noodles or fire noodles, made in a large cup. The noodle cup contains dry noodles, flakes and a spicy liquid sauce.
- 250 – 300g / 9 – 10 oz frozen French fries
- 3-4 sheets of seasoned seaweed, crush by hand
- 1/2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- A little vegetable oil for frying (I use rice bran oil)
HOW TO MAKE FRIED Fries FROM NUCLEAR FIRE
- Follow the instructions on the package for frying French fries. Depending on your cooking preferences, you can use an air fryer or an oven. Transfer the fries to a large bowl once they are crisp and golden.
- Meanwhile, in a separate saucepan, bring water to a boil over medium heat. Add the noodles and cook for 40 to 50 seconds once the water boils quickly. Stir occasionally. Use a strainer or tongs to remove the noodles. After quickly removing any remaining water, fry the noodles for about one minute at the same temperature as the French fries. Using a frying basket will make this process easier.
- Put the noodles in a bowl once cooked. Using your hands, break the noodles into bite-sized pieces. It may still be too hot to touch, so be careful.
- The flaky sauce, which comes with the noodles, should be added. Seaweed and sesame seeds are mixed. Also add the spicy sauce that comes with the noodles. If you can’t afford it, don’t add too much. Be careful when pouring the sauce as it is a liquid. This sauce comes together quickly.
- Toss gently to coat. Ripe sesame seeds and seaweed can be used as garnish.
- Put the contents into the noodle bowl. You can add more hot sauce to it. Once everything is ready and serve.
NOTE: You may be wondering why fry noodles that are already fried. This seems to be done to improve the crunchy texture of the noodles. In addition, it can increase the volume of noodles. Because dry noodles have a lot of space between them, boiling them briefly gives them time to expand before frying again.
